Investigators from the Yorktown Police Department received a walk-in report from a woman on July 6 who stated that a dispute at DeCicco Family Market in Jefferson Valley turned physical, prompting an investigation.
Police said that the investigation found that Shrub Oak resident Joseph Mazzei, 69, allegedly yelled profanities at the woman before allegedly pushing a shopping cart into her leg. A criminal summons was subsequently issued from the Yorktown Justice Court for Mazzei’s arrest.
On Sunday, Aug. 19, the summons was served and Mazzei was arrested on an underlying charge of harassment, a violation. Mazzei was released and is due back in court on Sept. 20 to answer the charge.
